In 1993 Rockrose Realty started it's endeavor to become one of Central Florida's premier real estate brokerage firms. A family owned business, we knew that we had to compete on all levels of real estate in order to maintain the visa status we had been granted following a move from the United Kingdom. As many foreigners know, the process to achieve a visa can be a long and drawn out process. More times than not, we have spent money chasing dreams which immigration attorneys have given us, only to find out that green cards and citizenship are not immediately in our future. With a limited knowledge and a lack of foreigners to offer advice, we found the right attorney and moved forward. Why real estate, you may ask? Susan Barnes, our broker had many years experience in the Florida industry as she had partnered up with an American builder in the 1980's. Using her financial advisory business in the UK, she began to promote Central Florida to the European market. As time went on, the family began to travel more to the U.S and in 1989 we opted to purchase our first family vacation home in Kissimmee, Florida. Having had the experience of a vacation home, Rockrose Realty realized that we too could offer this service along with the real estate. At a time when computers were not too well known, we built a management company to 40 + homes and became very successful in this field. Working along side Travel City, when they first started out, we realized that the vacation rental market was becoming a huge factor in the Central Florida economy.
It was at this time we realized that the property management side of the business was very diverse and that in fact, it would be a wonderful type of business for foreign investor's looking to relocate. Pool service, lawn service,cleaning service, bookings and real estate were just a few of the opportunities within the realms of property management and as we had now proved, was very lucrative. Having decided that we wanted to concentrate purely on real estate, we decided to sell the management side of the business. We quickly realized that assisting with the purchase of businesses and relocation was a niche area we wanted to be a part of. From that day forward we became a business brokerage as well as a real estate company. Knowing what we knew about the lack of information for the visa process, we liaised with the attorney who had finally succeeded in our relocation and set off on our new journey. Now, in 2009, we are proud to say that we have achieved our goals and are here to stay. With a database of thousands and referrals, we now have offices in the Osceola Square Mall in Kissimmee.
